Funeral For Metro-North Crash Victim Robert Dirks Of New Castle Scheduled

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The funeral for Chappaqua resident Robert Dirks, who was killed in the Metro-North train accident in Valhalla on Feb.3, will be held on March 1.

Dirks worked as a research scientist for D. E. Shaw Research in New York City. He was 36 at the time of the crash. 

The funeral will be held at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home in Mount Kisco. 

Dirks is survived by his wife, Christine, and two children, Owen and Phoebe; his parents Mike and Suree Dirks of Spokane, Wash.; and his brother, William Dirks of Portland, Ore.
