Easter Bunny Strolls Through Downtown Chappaqua

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. — Downtown Chappaqua received an early visit from a furry-suited friend on Saturday. The Chappaqua Fire Department's Easter Bunny walked through South Greeley Avenue and its stores from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., handing out holiday treats to hundreds of children.

Saturday's stroll through downtown was only a prelude to Sunday's annual Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. at Chappaqua Crossing. The fire department, which is sponsoring the event, will be hiding 4,000 eggs for an expected 1,000 or more children.

The prize-filled eggs will be hidden for three separate age groups: 1-4 years old; 5-8 years old; and 9-11 years old.
