Beautification of Chappaqua Bridge Begins March 12

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. – The final stage of work will be carried out on Chappaqua's Route 120 bridge beginning on March 12, according to New Castle officials.

Three months after wrapping up all major construction on the bridge, The Conti Group will return to install Belgian block crosswalks on both sides of the triangle, which was part of the original plan. The town will add to the beautification of the area with landscaping, planting and fencing.

Work on the bridge is scheduled to end for good on April 30. The oft-delayed, three-plus year construction began in 2008 and cost a total $20.2 million, 80 percent of which was paid for with federal funds.
