What's Happening in Chappaqua This Week

Monday, June 4

Chappaqua Library Book Sale Donations: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Chappaqua Library will be accepting donations for its book sale. A preview sale begins for Friends of the Chappaqua Library on Wednesday, and opens up to the public on Thursday and Friday. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave., Chappaqua.

Informal Writing Workshop: 7:30 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring short prose, poetry, ideas or simply a desire to write, to an evening of supportive feedback with fellow writers. The workshop is led by Joan Schulman. It is free and open to the public, but preregistration is necessary. Chappaqua Library, 195 S. Greeley Ave., Chappaqua.

Transportation Task Force Focus Group: 7:30 p.m. New Castle's Transportation Task Force, a division of the town's Sustainability Advisory Board, will hold a 30-minute focus group for residents to share concerns and ideas about how to address transportation issues in New Castle. New Castle Town Hall, assembly room.

Tuesday, June 5

New Castle Planning Board: 7 p.m. The Millwood Fire District will meet with the Planning Board for its first public hearing over a proposed new firehouse. New Castle Town Hall, assembly room.

New Castle Town Board: 7:30 p.m. The Town Board will meet for a work session. New Castle Town Hall, conference rooms A&B.

Robert E. Bell Middle School Band Concert: 7:30 p.m. Sixth to eighth grade students will perform in Seven Bridges Middle School auditorium. 222 Seven Bridges Road, Chappaqua.

Chappaqua School Board: 8:15 p.m. Horace Greeley High School, academic commons.

Wednesday, June 6

Future Farmers of Chappaqua: 4 p.m. Children in third to fifth grade will plant herbs, vegetables and flowers. Registration is necessary as space is limited. Chappaqua Library.

Robert E. Bell Middle School Orchestra Recital: 7 p.m. Rain date is 7 p.m. Thursday. Bell Middle School courtyard.

Architectural Review Board: 8 p.m. New Castle Town Hall, conference room A.

Thursday, June 7

Thursday Night Book Discussion Group: 7 p.m. Susan Zangler will lead a discussion of "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. The event is free and open to the public. Chappaqua Library.
