Daniel Rubino, 81, Formerly of Millwood

MILLWOOD, N.Y. – Daniel Rubino, a former Millwood resident, died May 24 at Putnam Nursing Home in Holmes, N.Y. He was 81.

A resident of Millwood since 1967, Rubino owned and operated Fairbanks Painting and Decorating Co. for 45 years until his retirement in 1996.

He was born March 15, 1931 in Bronx, N.Y., to Daniel and Columbia Rubino. He married Rosalie Merola on Feb. 3, 1951. She predeceased him Aug. 13, 1979.

Rubino is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Timothy) Zubradt of Dover Plains, N.Y. and Michele (Gregory) Cacace of Putnam Valley, N.Y., a son, Daniel (Anne) Rubino of Shenorock, a brother, Joseph Rubino, of Earlton, N.Y., a sister, Francis (Arthur) Conklin of Suffern, N.Y., 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Rubino was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Rubino and Rose Botticelli, and a brother, Anthony Rubino. 

Calling hours were held Monday at Cargain Funeral Home in Mahopac, N.Y. A funeral service was held Tuesday at the funeral home with burial following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
