Asian Group Donates Money to Chappaqua Library

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - The Director of the Organization of Chinese Americans presented the Assistance Director of the Chappaqua Library with a check to help continue funding programs the library offers on Chinese art.

According to Martha Alcott, assistant director at the Chappaqua Library, the series of programs the library offered is made possible by the Arts Alive Program as well as the Organization of Chinese Americans.

“We want to thank the Organization for their generosity and their sponsorship,” she said during a small ceremony held in the theatre on Wednesday night.

Alcott said the co-sponsorship began in 2001, when the organization asked if the library would be interested in co-sponsoring the series.

“Through the organization, the Chappaqua Library has been able to obtain over 1,000 Chinese Language books,” Alcott said. “We want to thank them for their very generous support. We are very grateful to them.”
