CHAPPAQUA., N.Y. -- From simple vanilla to gourmet caramel combinations to the invasion of the Oreo  -- is anything better on a hot day than the cool swirl of ice cream?

Classic, traditional options, along with newfangled flavors, can be found in all corners of Westchester with a number of versions served a variety of ways (hello whipped cream, fudge, sprinkles and waffle cones).

You, however, picked five nominees for the best ice cream in the county, meaning now's the time to nail down the winner.

Voting is open until Friday, June 26; go here to cast your ballot.

In the meantime, here's the "scoop" on why this one is so DVlicious. The other candidates will be featured daily with another profile Wednesday.
