Eagle Scout Project Brings Relaxation To Temple Shaaray Tefila

BEDFORD CORNERS, N.Y. -- Eagle Scout Hudson Miller's contribution to Temple Shaaray Tefila has certainly been making waves. As part of his final Eagle Scout project, Miller designed, fundraised and constructed a water wall in the playground of the temple's Early Childhood Center playground.

"My original plan was to gather a group of parent volunteers to help build the wall" says Debra Frankel, Temple Sharaay Tefila's Early Childhood director. "Hudson, who was working toward his Eagle Scout project, saw one of my images, and asked if he could do it."

Miller met with briefly to assess the temple's needs, and put together the entire proposal on his own.

"He did the entire project completely on his own -- with some help from his fellow troop members-- and came on his free time. He designed it, and also did all of the fundraising. Hudson put together these fantastic first aid kits, with our Early Childhood Center's logo on it, and created Early Childhood Center water bottles."

Now, young students in the temple's Childhood Center can enjoy the season's crisp days with the relaxing sound of cascading water thanks to Miller's water wall.
