Chappaqua Physician Name Deputy Chief Medical Officer At CareMount

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Chappaqua resident Robert Newborn, MD has been named Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer for CareMount Medical (formerly The Mount Kisco Medical Group).

CareMount is a multi-specialty medical group practice serving Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Columbia and Ulster Counties in New York.

In his new position, Dr. Newborn will assist Thomas Lester, MD, CareMount’s Chief Medical Officer, with the management of the medical aspects of the organization. “Dr. Newborn is highly regarded as a clinician and a physician leader,” said Dr. Lester. “His unique skills, deep experience and innovative ideas concerning quality medical care will further enhance CareMount’s growth and strengthen its value in our community.” 

Dr. Newborn, who is board-certified in internal medicine, will also provide clinical services at CareMount’s urgent care centers.

Most recently, Dr. Newborn was Vice President, Medical Services at Phelps Memorial Hospital and Northern Westchester Hospital, both part of Northwell Health. Previously, he served as Chief Medical Officer for the Western Connecticut Medical Group, and as Associate Medical Director for Northern Westchester Hospital. 

Dr. Newborn has broad clinical experience in Primary Care, Hospital & Observation Medicine, and Urgent Care & Emergency Medicine. In addition, Dr. Newborn serves on the Board of Neighbors Link Northern Westchester, a regional non-profit focused on the healthy integration of immigrants into the community.

Dr. Newborn received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany followed by an internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York City.
