Dole Recalls Packaged Salads Due To Listeria Concerns
Dole has announced a massive recall of packaged salads due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Dole Fresh Vegetables announced a precautionary recall of all Dole-branded and private label packaged salads processed at its Bessemer City, North Carolina, and Yuma, Arizona processing facilities due to the possible health risk. The recalled items were shipped nationwide. Ex-Marine From Westchester Dies At Age 28
A former Marine from Northern Westchester died on Monday, March 22 at age 28. Kittiphon "Kit" Ponchareon was a graduate of Ossining High School who served in the Marine Corps for four years. He began his training in Yuma, Arizona, and was then deployed to multiple locations in the Middle East. His roles in the Marines included Fiscal Specialist, Security Forces and Supply Administrator, Operations Specialist, and Transit Coordinator. He was born in Thailand on June 20, 1992. Jump In Sick Count, Hospitalizations From Romaine Lettuce E. Coli Outbreak
The number people sickened as well as those hospitalized as a result of an E. Coli outbreak linked to contaminated chopped romaine lettuce has grown, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. The outbreak that has now sickened 53 people in 16 states, including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, according to the CDC. A total of 31 have been hospitalized.
