Servando Rodriguez, of Yonkers, died suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 8, according to his obituary. Rodriguez worked as a firefighter for the City of Yonkers. "It has been a pleasure meeting, knowing, and interacting with him during my years at Yonkers High School," former classmate Joel Pike wrote in a Facebook post. High School Student Accused Of Making Terroristic Threats In Westchester A teenager has been arrested and charged for making a terroristic threat after he threatened to shoot up his school, police announced. Police announced officers apprehended the 17-year-old Yonkers High School student on Tuesday, Dec. 7, charging him with a felony. It is alleged that the student made overt threats to shoot up the school. Police said that other students came forward and reported the comments to school administrators, who contacted the department, which launched an investigation. These Westchester Students Named National Merit Semifinalists Some of Westchester County’s best and brightest students were among those chosen as semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, which celebrates academic achievement in high school students. On Wednesday, 16,000 high school seniors were chosen from around the country. Those 16,000 will soon be pared to 7,500 finalists, who will be picked to receive upwards of $31 million in scholarships, which will be announced next spring as they prepare to continue their educations in college.
