Woman Found Dead Behind Building In Hudson Valley, Police Say
Police are asking the public for help after a woman was found dead behind a building in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Orange County in Newburgh around 9 a.m., Monday, Aug. 8. According to Newburgh Police, a 55-year-old woman was located dead behind a building in the area of William Street and Carson Avenue. Officers responded and processed the scene. Upon further investigation, the circumstances of her death do not appear to be suspicious in nature, police said. The identity of the female will not be released at this time to respect her family. …

Hudson Valley Caretaker Admits To Starving 7-Year-Old Boy To Death
A Hudson Valley woman has admitted to abusing and starving a 7-year-old boy she kept secreted inside her apartment, authorities announced. Leticia Bravo, age 39, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, March 16 to manslaughter for her role in the death of 7-year-old Peter Cuacuas, who was kept hidden behind a bedroom behind a door that locked from the outside. School Closes In Hudson Valley After Shooting Injuring Four Teens
Police are investigating after the shootings of several teens caused the closure of an area school. The Newburgh Free Academy in Orange County is closed Thursday, Nov. 18, after the City of Newburgh Police discovered four teens shot in the area on Wednesday, Nov. 17. In a message from the school posted Wednesday, school leaders said the closure is out of an "abundance of caution in response to an incident that occurred in the community".
