Couple Charged With Stealing Flowers, Other Items From Graves In Hudson Valley Two people have been arrested for allegedly stealing plants, pumpkins, and flowers from graves in a Hudson Valley cemetery. Orange County residents John D. Riach, age 69, and Lisebeth S. Riach, age 63, both of the Town of Newburgh, were arrested Thursday, Oct. 27 for the incidents which occurred in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd, said Lloyd Police Chief James Janso. Former Town Supervisor In Hudson Valley Dies At Age 56 A former town supervisor in the area has died at the age of 56. 23-Year-Old Killed After Deer Thrown Into Car On Route 9W A 23-year-old was killed after a large truck in an oncoming lane struck a deer, which flew through the air and crashed through the windshield then out through the back window of the vehicle in the area, said police.  The incident happened in Ulster County in the Town of Lloyd on Route 9W at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28.  Both the driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Sean Boles of Washington Township in New Jersey, and now-deceased Toni Redner of Newburgh were transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital, police said. Pedestrian Suffers Several Injuries After Being Hit By State Police Cruiser In Hudson Valley A pedestrian was hospitalized with injuries after being struck by a New York State Police cruiser on Tuesday morning, Aug. 14. The pedestrian was struck by the marked police vehicle while on patrol in the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County on North Road, near Route 9W, just south of Route 299, at approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday.  The pedestrian suffered “several injuries” and was transported to the MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment.
