A town in Northern Westchester has decided to work with a new trash hauler after several of the previous garbage carter's trucks were repossessed right before the holiday weekend. Yorktown Green Project Proposed Featuring 150 Apartments, Mixed-Use Building
One of the most prominent vacant commercial sites in Northern Westchester could be getting a multi-million dollar facelift to transform it into a massive mixed-use building. A proposal to transform Yorktown Green into a mixed-use development featuring 150 apartments, ground-level retail locations, and a new supermarket was introduced to the Town Board this week to much fanfare. Cuomo Vetoes Mount Pleasant Hotel Occupancy Tax
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has vetoed legislation that would have permitted Mount Pleasant to enact a new hotel occupancy tax following three years of debate regarding the bill. Last year, town officials approved a plan to add a 3 percent tax to hotel rates in an effort to increase revenue. Last week, Cuomo’s office announced that it is vetoing the legislation, without offering a reason in the announcement. Cuomo also vetoed similar legislation in other municipalities throughout the state. Presently, there is one hotel within the town’s borders, with a second planned in the coming years. …

Proposed Supermarket, Restaurant, May Replace Westchester Multiplex
New details have emerged about the proposed grocery store development at the site of the Greenburgh Multiplex. The Town Board met with developers during a special work session on Tuesday, Feb. 12, where developers Robert Baker, the chair of National Realty and Development Corp. and William Null, an attorney at Cuddy and Feder, who laid out their vision for the proposal to replace the defunct movie theater on Saw Mill River Road.
