Thousands Raised For Family Of Slain Teen 'Taken Away From Us Much Too Soon' In Westchester A community is pulling together to help lay an 18-year-old shooting victim to rest in Westchester as his family mourns his loss.  Tamani Turner, also known as Tajohn, died on Thursday night, April 6 after he was shot twice in the chest in Mount Vernon on Garden Avenue just south of East 4th Street.  Born in 2005, Turner grew up in Mount Vernon and eventually became a gifted football player, at one point attending Archbishop Stepinac High on a sports scholarship.  At the time of his death, Turner had been a student at Mount Vernon High School and had been out on spr…
