Part Of Busy Westchester Roadway To Close For Nearly A Month
A section of a busy roadway in Northern Westchester will soon close for four weeks. The section of Route 118 in Yorktown between Birdsall Drive and Hanover Street will close starting on Monday, Oct. 17, at 12 a.m. and continue to Monday, Nov. 14, Department of Transportation officials said. Expect Delays: Officials Announce Upcoming Closures On Stretch Of Saw Mill River Parkway
State officials are advising motorists to expect delays as a stretch of the Saw Mill River Parkway is set to close nightly in both directions to facilitate construction work. The New York State Department of Transportation made an announcement on Thursday, April 28, that the parkway will be closed between Exit 12 (Farragut Parkway) in Hastings-on-Hudson and Exit 17 (Ashford Avenue) in Dobbs Ferry. Accidents Involving Pedestrians On Busy Westchester Road Spark Concern
An increase in incidents involving pedestrians being struck by cars crossing streets in Westchester has become a cause of concern for some elected officials. A woman was struck in the intersection outside of Starbucks in Ardsley on Thursday, prompting officials to review ways to increase safety for pedestrians, Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said.
