Former Fire Chief, Business Owner From Westchester Dies A village in Westchester is mourning the loss of a longtime business owner who rose to important positions in the community's fire department.  Lifelong Port Chester resident Robert "Tee" Thalheimer died on Friday, Aug. 11 at the age of 76, according to his obituary.  Thalheimer, the former Chief of the Port Chester Fire Department, was born in the village in 1946 and graduated from Port Chester High School in 1964.  After his graduation, Thalheimer began a career in carpentry working for Byram Builders before becoming a diesel mechanic for Consolidated Diesel…

Man Killed In Head-On Westchester Crash An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist was killed in a wrong-way crash in Northern Westchester.  The crash happened in North Salem at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, according to New York State Police. A 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle was eastbound on Titicus Road near Oakridge Road when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle entered the westbound lane and struck a 2007 BMW SUV head-on, according to state police. The mild, shaking jolt in Connecticut that startled some in Fairfield County, was in fact a mild earthquake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The USGS, the organization responsible for earthquake tracking around the country, said the 1.4-magnitude quake took place at 12:38 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27 in Greenwich, two kilometers north-northwest of the neighborhood of Cos Cob. Bruno DiFabio, age 51, of Ridgefield, was sentenced on Thursday, May 6 to 30 days in prison, followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to a federal tax offense in 2018.
