ID To Fly Domestically
Travelers in New York are running out of time to “get real” before needing a new license to board domestic flights in the US. In less than a year, as of May 3, 2023, standard licenses would no longer make the cut for those looking to travel, requiring them to register for a REAL ID to board planes. There are now three different forms of driver’s license or New York State identification, a standard - which will not be enough to board a domestic flight alone come May next year - enhanced, or the REAL ID license, which is in coordination with a new law aimed to increase security to travelers. …

Scam Alert Issued For 'Update Your Contact Info' Fake DMV Emails, Texts
The New York State DMV is warning drivers it has seen an increase in scammers pretending to be the department in an attempt to commit identity theft. These attempts often include logos, images, and content copied from the legitimate New York State DMV website (or another government site) to make their fraudulent communication appear realistic. Police To Crack Down On Drivers Who Pass Stopped School Buses
State and local police will be cracking down on motorists that pass stopped school bus during “Operation Safe Stop.” The special enforcement detail - the 15th annual - will be focused on deterring motorists from passing the buses and is designed to educate the public about the dangers of passing buses when they are dismissing students and their lights are flashing. “Passing a stopped school bus is one of the most dangerous actions a driver can take, and these incidents are easily preventable,” Terri Egan, Executive Deputy Commissioner of the New York State DMV and Acting GTSC Chair stated.…
