Tornado Confirmed In Hudson Valley As Debby Swept Through Northeast: Here's When, Where
A tornado touched down in the Hudson Valley as post-Tropical Depression Debby swept through the Northeast. The incident happened at 5:52 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, in Ulster County near the New York State Thruway interchange in the town of New Paltz. "We have patrolled the surrounding area and have not found any damage to structures or reported injuries," the New Paltz Police Department reports. Cop In Hudson Valley On Leave After Transphobic Video With Violent Hillary Clinton Comment
A police officer in the area is on paid administrative leave after allegedly posting a transphobic rap video that says there are only two genders and that Hillary Clinton should be hanged. The video, posted by New Paltz Police Officer Robert Sisco, who is seen wearing a police uniform, expresses crude transphobic statements, as well as the comment about Clinton in which he said, "Hillary is Killary we all know the reason. Several Injured After Bus Carrying 50 Extras From Showtime's 'Billions’ Crashes In Area
Eight people were injured when a bus carrying 50 extras for the Showtime series "Billions," slid down an embankment in the area. The crash took place around 10:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2 in Ulster County, on Mountain Rest Road in New Paltz, said New Paltz Police Lt. Robert Lucchesi. According to Lucchesi, the bus was returning from filming when it stopped on the road due to another accident. The driver got off the vehicle to try and help.
