Eastchester's Centenarian Ed Ranieri: A Shining Example Of The Greatest Generation Hildebrand (“Ed”) Ranieri, a longtime resident of Eastchester, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 28. He was 100 years young, celebrating his century milestone this past September. Syracuse University Student, 18, From Westchester Remembered For His Engaging Personality A Syracuse University first-year student from Westchester who died suddenly earlier this week is being remembered for his high energy and engaging personality. John “Jack” Howard Lundin of the Crestwood section of Yonkers, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 14. He was 18. He was born on June 20, 2002, in White Plains. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School and the School of the Annunciation. Hypodermic Needles Found Near Scarsdale Elementary School, Church More than a dozen hypodermic needles were found on the ground near a Westchester elementary school and church. Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department received a report on Sunday, May 17, from a passerby that there were two needles near the intersection of Nelson Road and Edgewood Road, in the vicinity of the Edgewood Elementary School and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. According to the department, the officers located the reported needles, removing them from the scene. Scarsdale Police Sgt.
