Bronxville Native Sandy Guidera, 67, Dies It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra “Sandy” Guidera or “Dee,” as she was affectionately called by her granddaughters. After a courageous battle with cancer, Sandy passed away peacefully at her home in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 17, surrounded by family and friends.  Sandy was born in New York City in 1952 and raised in Bronxville. She attended Bronxville High School, Pine Manor College in Brookline, MA and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A Life Well-Lived: Mary E. "Polly" McDermott, 87, Of Chappaqua, Weston Mary E. McDermott, known to everyone as “Polly,” died peacefully with her daughters at her side at the age of 87 on Feb. 27, 2019 at Broad Creek Care Center in Hilton Head, SC. She is survived by her two daughters, Megan McDermott (Steven Schafer) and Morna McDermott McNulty (Leonard), and four grandchildren: Merrill Hersam, Maren Hersam, Conor McNulty and Molly McNulty. Polly was born in Philadelphia to Fred and Thelma Bright. She was the middle of three children and had an older sister, Gloria, and younger brother, Freddy, both of whom pre-deceased her.
