Beloved Police Officer From Westchester Dies Suddenly At Age 50 A community in Westchester is mourning the sudden loss of a police officer who died just shy of her 17-and-a-half-year anniversary with her department.  Yonkers Police Officer Laurine Williams died suddenly on Monday, Jan. 22 after a battle with medical complications, the department announced on Wednesday, Jan. 31.  Williams, who died only two weeks after her 50th birthday, was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1974. Macy's To Close Seven Stores, Cut 5,000 Jobs Department store chain Macy's announced the locations of seven store closures as well as plans to eliminate 5,000 jobs.The latest move comes after a slight uptick in holiday sales in which Macy's reported a 1 percent boost in sales in November and December compared to the same period last year.
