5 Adults, Young Child Evacuated From Burning Home In Mount Vernon
Fire officials are investigating a blaze at a Westchester home that left several people, including young children, displaced. The blaze began on Saturday, Oct. 5 just after 5 p.m., when a home at 439 Homestead Ave. in Mount Vernon caught on fire, according to city officials. Five adults and two children, including a 7-year-old, were inside the house when the blaze began. Luckily though, firefighters were able to safely get them all out. No serious injuries were reported. Fire officials have reported that one person died after a blaze broke out at an apartment building in Westchester County. The Pelham Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at 17 Fifth Ave. at about 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, according to a report from the Village of Pelham on Sunday, Feb. 20. Dozens of people have been displaced after a two-alarm fire broke out at an apartment complex in Westchester on Saturday.
