2024 Valedictorian, Salutatorian Announced By High School In Westchester Two high-achieving seniors at a Northern Westchester high school are being recognized for landing at the top of their class.  In an announcement on Wednesday, June 12, Byram Hills High School revealed its valedictorian and salutatorian for the class of 2024 are Grace Lin and Daniel Ndocaj, respectively.  The school's administration and faculty celebrated both students' accomplishments. HS Student Wins $20K In Westchester: 'Will Change World One Day' A high school student from Northern Westchester has received a $20,000 scholarship after being named a 2023 Coca-Cola Scholar.  Matthew Krasnow, a student at Fox Lane High School in Bedford, is one of only 150 students across the entire country to receive the scholarship and was picked out of more than 91,000 applicants, according to the Bedford Central School District.  Krasnow was picked based on criteria such as academic excellence, leadership skills, and services in both school and community activities, school officials said. Yorktown High School announced that Ashley Song was named valedictorian and Daniel Sheinin was named salutatorian. Beloved Teacher Who Graduated From High School, College In Westchester Dies Suddenly At Age 64 A beloved teacher and longtime Hudson Valley resident has died at the age of 64. Dutchess County resident Michael Ambron, of Fishkill, died suddenly of heart failure at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday, July 26, according to his obituary. Ambron grew up in the Bronx, and he graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers. He went on to earn degrees from Manhattan College and Iona College, his obituary said. For 25 years, he worked for IBM in East Fishkill and Southbury, Connecticut, and he served as director of programming, according to his obituary.  In …

19-Year-Old Cornell University Student Found Dead A teenage college student died in upstate New York at Ithaca Falls. Phillip Zukowski, age 19, a sophomore at Cornell University who was studying computer science, was found dead on Saturday, May 8 near Ezra’s Tunnel in the Ithaca Falls Natural Area, Vice President for Student and Campus Life Dr. Ryan Lombardi announced. The cause of Zukowski’s death is currently unknown.
