General Motors Recalling 449K SUV, Pickup Trucks Due To Low Brake Fluid Warning Light Issues
Upwards of 450,000 SUV and pickup trucks are subject to a recall by General Motors due to a faulty electronic brake control module that may potentially fail to warn drivers when there is a loss of brake fluid. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Friday that GM is recalling multiple models and vehicles due to the issue. The identities have been released of two men and two women all in their 20s who were killed in a horrific wrong-way crash on a stretch of I-95 in Connecticut. It happened at around 1:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 25 in New Haven County on the southbound side when a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes in West Haven, Connecticut State Police said. 28-Year-Old Dies At Westchester Medical Center After BMW Crashes In Hudson Valley
A 28-year-old was killed after passing a dump truck on the shoulder of a roadway and then hitting a Cadillac Silverado in the Hudson Valley. Rockland County resident Dillon Ortiz, was killed in Orange County around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5 on Route 293 in the town of Highlands. Facing pressure from the federal government, General Motors is recalling more than 3.4 million pickup trucks and SUVs nationwide that may have potential brake problems. The recall includes Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup models from 2014 through 2018, as well as Cadillac Escalade models from 2015 to 2017, and the GMC Yukon, Chevy Suburban and Tahoe models from 2015 through 2018. General Motors has announced that the company is recalling 1.2 million pickup trucks and SUVs due to power-assisted steering problems that have been reported and caused a number of crashes. GM announced the latest recall - on the heels of a recall for a rear brake issue on 10 models earlier this week - stating that the power steering can fail momentarily during low-speed turns, due to a voltage drop in the vehicle.
