Dutchess County resident Robert Ansbach, of Beacon, went missing while swimming in the town of Fishkill on Monday, July 5. According to police, the Dutchess County 911 Center received a call around 9:20 p.m., that a swimmer was missing in the Mount Beacon Reservoir in the town of Fishkill. The Hudson Valley Film Commission has put out a call for paid extras to work on a movie that will be filming in the region. The film, which can't be named, it's all very hush, hush, will be filmed in July and August in Fishkill and Beacon in Dutchess County, and Warwick in Orange County. The film is the first that will utilize the decommissioned Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill, the film commission said. 15-Year-Old Girl Killed In I-684 Crash New York State Police are investigating after a 15-year-old girl was killed during a two-vehicle crash. It happened around 1:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 20 on I-684 in Westchester near the I-287 merger in Harrison. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, officers responded to the crash which occurred when the driver of a 2018 Hyundai Sonata hit a median guide rail and was later struck by a second vehicle. Man Dies After Jumping From Bridge In Hudson Valley A man from the region was killed after jumping from a Hudson Valley bridge. The incident took around 9 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, in Dutchess County where the New York State Police began investigating a report of a man jumping from the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge in Beacon. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, the Newburgh Fire Department marine unit located Orange County resident Lester R. Banta, age 55, of Maybrook.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. Person On Tracks Hit By Train In Hudson Valley, Officials Say An MTA train hit a person on the tracks, causing a serious leg wound. According to the MTA, the incident took place around 11:35 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, when the southbound Croton-Harmon-bound train struck the person at the Breakneck Ridge station in Fishkill in Dutchess County. The person struck was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with a reported leg injury.  Hudson Line service was initially suspended between Cold Spring and Beacon.  Service was delayed for a short time but resumed to full service by 2:11 a.m. This is a developing story. Metro-North To Start Upgrading Parking Lots At Three Hudson Valley Stations Metro-North Railroad has announced a series of parking lot upgrades at three Hudson Valley stations. MTA said upgrades will be made at the stations in Putnam County -- in Cold Spring -- and Dutchess County -- in Beacon, and New Hamburg -- in August and September. MTA said temporary closures and parking restrictions will be necessary as work is underway to create better drainage and install new pavement and pavement markings. Man Charged With Cocaine Possession After Westchester Traffic Stop A man was arrested for alleged felony cocaine possession following a traffic stop in Northern Westchester. Dutchess County resident Daniel R. Usher, age 31, of Beacon, was arrested on Saturday, May 22, when New York State Police pulled over his 2012 Subaru Impreza on Route 9 in Croton-On-Hudson, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
