NEW HAVEN, N.Y. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conferences nine coaches have chosen four Concordia College womens tennis players for the conferences 2011 All-CACC Womens Tennis Teams.
Junior Yuliya Plevako (Astana, Kazakhstan) was named to the All-CACC First Team for the first time in her career after being selected to the Second Team the past two seasons. Plevako finished with a 7-1 singles and doubles record in conference play. Her only loss in singles competition came to Goldey-Beacoms Stephanie Puentes, who was named Player of the Year by the coaches.
Seniors Clara Catanzano (Sete, France) and Juliana Frey (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) were each named to the All-CACC Second Team. Catanzano recorded a 7-1 singles and doubles record. Her only loss during singles play was to Chestnut Hills Maria Parapouras, who also was named to the Second Team.
Frey finished with an 8-0 singles and doubles record during conference play. Freys partner for doubles, junior Ana S.O. Mendes (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), was also named to the All-CACC Second Team with a 5-3 singles record along with the 8-0 doubles record.
The Clippers (8-0, 8-0 CACC) are preparing to host the CACC championships, which will be held beginning Saturday at the Meyers Tennis Center.
