Concordia Women Top USciences from Long-Range

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College Clippers women's basketball team rattled home 10 three-pointers and Krystin Agard poured in a game-high 30 points Saturday as the host grabbed a 74-69 victory in a Central Atlantic collegiate Conference win over University of Sciences.

The Clippers (6-13, 5-7 CACC) will play their next game Wednesday to wrap up a three-game home stand, taking on Felician College at 5 p.m.

Concordia and USciences began the game trading baskets until Agard her first three-pointer to give the Clippers a five-point lead. The Devils responded with 5-0 run to tie the game with 9:26 left in the first half.

Neither team could open up a lead larger than four points in the first half but the visiting Devils used an 8-2 run and forged a 35-32 lead at the half. USciences added to its lead with an early second-half burst and led by eight points midway through second half.

The Clippers found themselves down by seven with 6:19 to go in the game when the long-range shooting began. Mariah Berry knocked down two three-pointers and Sade Jones added one to give the Clippers a 71-69 lead with 49 seconds remaining in the game.

Agard led the Clippers in scoring and also had six rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal, and teammate Chanessa Blakemore grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds, while Jones added 13 points and Berry chipped in with 11.
