BRONXVILLE, N.Y. The men's and women's tennis teams at Concordia College earned multiple awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for the 2012 season.
The womens team had four players earn All Scholar-Athlete awards. Juniors Ana S.O. Mendes, Yuliya Plevako and Camilla Gomes Xavier and senior Juliana Frey captured the awards. Senior Geza Bazula and freshmen Benas Majauskas and Mark Moser represented the mens team. This was the fourth year in a row that a mens tennis player from Concordia earned a scholar award from the ITA.
To earn the ITA Scholar-Athlete award, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have at least a 3.50 grade point average for the current academic year and must have been enrolled at their school for a minimum of two semesters.
The two Concordia tennis teams also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors by having a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.20. Two mens and four womens Central Athletic Collegiate Conference tennis teams earned this honor.
