Bronxville Girls Win 32nd Straight Cross Country Title

BRONX, N.Y. ? The Bronxville girls cross country team extended its league championship winning streak to 32 seasons with another sweeping victory at Tuesday's Conference II league meet at Van Cortlandt Park.

The team qualified 17 runners for All-League honors, led by first-place finisher Kaitlin Ryan and second place winner Courtney Campbell, according to coach Jim Mitchell. Bronxville grabbed the first six places for 15 points, outscoring second-place Pelham (61) for the team title by 46 points.

"Congratulations to all on the team’s 32nd consecutive League Championship and to our 17 All League recipients," Mitchell said. "We also had three honorable mention All-League runners."

Ryan and Campbell both raced to the top spot in a time of 16:08 with Ryan edging her teammate at the finish. Hilary Rizzo took third in 16:09, Argentina Chrapp placed fourth in 16:16 and Emilie Hoffer was a close fifth in 16:19 over the 4,000-meter course.

The Broncos will compete at the Manhattan College Invitational meet Friday at Van Cortlandt Park in the largest one-day cross country meet in the country.

The other Bronxville league champions are Morgan Nobles, Delia Hayes, Amelia Phillips, Veronica Walsh, Saige Sunier, Nicola Phillips, Emma Watters, Grace Naef, Claire McGonigle, Meagan Scotti, Katherine Marrinan, Grace Vetromile, Jamie Carroll, Emma Lewis, Emily Spitz, Catherine Cain, Hanna Sheehan, Nicole Giangola, Caroline Krall, Ana Timoney, Ansley Jones and Sydney Frayne.
