Last week, a group of 14 Bronxville High School sophomores joined English teacher Franco D’Alessandro and hundreds of promising high school wordsmiths for a day of creative writing workshops hosted by the Putnam / Northern Westchester BOCES.
At the “Writing: Possibilities and Potential” conference, students from the tri-state area worked with professional novelists, poets, editors and journalists to help hone and perfect their craft under the eyes of veteran writers.
According to the conference’s program, “students had the opportunity to write, create, share and discuss their writings with other outstanding high school writers and recognize the potential of written language to explore thinking, explain feelings and beliefs and tell their stories.”
Our students really enjoyed this wonderful experience and came away informed and inspired,” D’Alessandro stated. “Congratulations to the Bronxville High School students who were distinguished as outstanding young writers and were selected to attend the conference: Andrew Babyak, Jack Baxter, Daniel Bettino, Rachel Billings, Will Bogatryrenko, Jeb Burnell, Hana Eddib, Sophie Feinberg, Nanda Fraser, Griffin Garbarini, Drew Judkins, Devin Portner, Kelsey Ravesloot and Kat Ungvary."
