Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner cited the "tenacity and professionalism of our detectives."

"They worked diligently right from the scene and subsequently took a violent individual off of our streets in a short period of time," Gardner said. "This should be a warning for those who choose to engage in violent activity in our city that they will be held accountable.”
