BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Dr. Martin Frederick (Fritz) Stein Jr. M.D. of Bronxville died Nov. 11. He was 77.
Dr. Stein grew up on Long Island in Manhasset but has been a resident of Bronxville for 40 years. A graduate of Columbia University, he received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 1962. He served as medical director of St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers. He was a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a founder of the Southern Westchester Dialysis Center in Yonkers and served several tours of duty with the U.S. Army at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany attending wounded soldiers.
Dr. Stein is survived by his sister, Gayle Bishop of Texas; six children; and 14 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Sheila S. Stein.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Reformed Church of Bronxville.
