BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Countless residents showed up Thursday morning to pay their respects to Patricia L. Fine, an active member of the Bronxville community who died Sunday. She was 74.
Fine was a leading member of several Bronxville organizations, including the Anne Hutchinson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, of which she was an officer. She was also a former president of the Bronxville Women's Club and worked closely with the Boulder Ledge Garden Club.
Fine's son was one of several people who offered remembrances of his mother.
I remember how she loved to read, I remember how she loved to visit her little farm in Pennsylvania, I remember how she loved the music of John Lennon and The Beatles, I remember how proud she was to be a Daughter of the American Revolution, I remember how she loved all animals, plants and nature, and I remember how she taught me to never give up, he said. She stole a little bit of all of our hearts, but gave it back in dividends whenever we needed her to.
Fine was described as a magnetic, dynamic person. She was the life of the party, a person everyone wanted to get to know. Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin summed it up when she wrote that Fine was "truly a village treasure."
Memorial gifts may be given to The American Cancer Soceity.
