The work will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
“The project is part of the company’s routine maintenance program to assure high water quality and reliability,” said Lynda DiMenna, manager of Suez operations in Westchester. “It is also necessary to be sure that the hydrants are working properly in the event that they need to be used by firefighters.”
During the week of May 2-7, Suez has been working in the following communities:
- Bronxville
- Eastchester
- Hastings
- New Rochelle
- Port Chester
- Tuckahoe
As part of this work, Suez employees will let water flow from the hydrants to remove harmless minerals that collect in the water mains. During this time, customers may temporarily experience low water pressure or discolored water. While the water is safe, customers may prefer to wait until the water runs clear before drinking or washing clothes or dishes.
“We appreciate our customers' patience while we complete this important work,” said DiMenna.
