Scouts Support Tuckahoe Seniors

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. -- Juniors and seniors came together at the Tuckahoe Village Board meeting Monday night.

Members from the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts Troop 353 presented the Tuckahoe Senior Citizens with a check for $350.

The Scouts sold ice cold bottled water at the Village Fireworks Show held in July.

"It was a very warm, sticky day," said senior Barbara Stires, who along with Jennie Angelo, attended the meeting to thank the boys. "And we appreciate all that you did for us."

The scouts were at the fireworks show from 5 to 11 p.m. and sold hundreds of bottles of water. The net proceeds were donated to the seniors for their use.

"Now we must think of a way for our group to support you," Stires said.

Members of the pack who attended Monday night's event were Anne Hutch Elementary School students Dillon Panico, and Dylan Ecklond - Mayor Steve Ecklond's son, Jordan Barooti, Michael Brand, Chris Lazzaro and Brad McCandless.

The Tuckahoe Seniors meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Senior Center on Union Avenue.
