The Yonkers Fire Department responded at approximately 8:30 a.m. and slowed the leak, diked the oil on the ground, and collected some of the leaking oil into containers. YFD said it collected and diked approx 1,500 gallons.
Approximately 2,100 gallons leaked, officials said, with some oil entering the storm drain and the Bronx River.
An oil cleanup company responded to pump out the remaining oil on the truck, and clean the spilled oil.
