The restaurant chain J?o?h?n?n?y? ??R?o?c?k?e?t?s? ?opened in May to cheers and lines of people waiting to get inside.

"It's been great," said Dano Weisse, one of the owners. "We have had a very warm welcome."

Weisse said that he opened his first Johnny Rockets in Mount Kisco about two years ago. There are roughly 300 of the restaurant chain throughout the United States.

"We looked around for our next location very carefully, and then we looked at Eastchester, which really does not have anything like this," he said.

Johnny Rockets features old fashioned burgers, and shakes with most menu items costing under $10. There are also comfort food favorites like grilled cheese sandwiches, tuna melts and chili dogs on the menu.?

The menu includes 13 different salad plat?es that are more figure-friendly and children’s favorites like chicken tenders and peanut butter and je?lly.

"We are very kid friendly," said Weisse. ?"We are all about family here."

Eastchester residents, Leslie Russell and Jim Hunter, called Johnny Rockets "a blast from the past."

"I think it's great," said Russell. "I can't wait to bring my grandkids.?”
