Eastchester Campers Celebrate With Camp Show

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There's only one more week of camp left for Eastchester campers who celebrated Friday with their annual show.

Kids who attend Camp Galaxy performed for parents and friends at the show, which was held at Anne Hutch Elementary School.

Throughout the summer, campers went swimming at Lake Isle three times a week and went on trips to such places as Splash Down in Poughkeepsie and Playland in Rye.

The Town of Eastchester runs four camps each summer, Camp Rainbow for pre-kindergarten to second grade, two Camp Galaxy camps for kids from first grade to sixth grade, and the Quest Camp for seventh, eighth and ninth graders. The camps service about 700 kids in total, said Recreation Director Sally Veltidi.

The six week session will end with another celebration, Veltidi said.

"We will be having our carnival on Tuesday and Wednesday next week and Friday is our last day," she said.
