Con Edison is also preparing for the possibility that it will have to shut down its underground electrical distribution equipment.  The company will have additional crews on standby to respond to any problems that occur with the electric, gas and steam systems caused by the storm.

Con Edison has provided the following safety tips for Bronxville residents: do not approach any downed electrical wires, report all downed wires to Con Edison and your local police department immediately, if your power goes out, turn off all lights and appliances to prevent overloaded circuits when power is restored, make sure your flashlights and radios are operational and avoid opening your freezer.

Customers can report downed power lines, outages and check service restoration status on its website or by calling 1-800-752-6633.
