Car Burglaries Plague Eastchester Neighborhood

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. — Three cars in Eastchester's Green Knolls neighborhood were reported burglarized Tuesday, March 27, according to the Eastchester Police Department.

The owner of a 2004 Honda Odyssey parked on Rutgers Place said the unlocked vehicle was parked from 8:15 p.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday. A GPS unit was taken, said Eastchester Lt. Robert Jensen.

A 2004 Mini Cooper parked on Warwick Avenue at 9 p.m. Monday was also found burglarized Tuesday when the owner headed for work at 6:30 a.m. A GPS unit was reported stolen.

The owner of a 2012 Toyota Highlander parked on Bronson Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Monday. At 8 a.m. Tuesday, the owner found the driver’s door ajar and a pair of prescription sunglasses valued at $200 missing.

All three vehicles had been left unlocked, Jensen said, advising that people should always lock their vehicles. Jensen also said anyone who sees a suspicious person should call the Eastchester Police Department at 914-961-3464 or, in an emergency, 911.

Disturbance: A neighbor dispute was reported at 10:14 a.m. March 26 in the 10 block of Lorraine Drive.

Civil violation: A report of a building department violation was reported at 10:33 a.m. March 26 in the 30 block of Prospect Avenue.

ID theft: A case of fraud through identity theft was reported at 1:10 p.m. March 26 in the 1 block of Potter Place.

Suspicious vehicle: A suspicious vehicle was reported at 5:28 p.m. March 27 on Hewitt Avenue.

Family trouble: A domestic dispute was called in at 8:51 p.m. March 27 in the 10 block of Lockwood Avenue.

Suspicious person: A suspicious person was reported at 10:45 p.m. March 27 in the 800 block of White Plains Road.

Going nowhere: A vehicle was impounded and a summons was issued at 11 a.m. March 28 on John R. Albanese Place.

What's going on?: A suspicious incident was reported at 5 p.m. March 28 in the 20 block of Reynolds Place.

Animal problem: An animal complaint was called in at 9:18 p.m. March 28 on Brambach Avenue.
