Bronxville Still Under State Of Emergency After Sandy

BRONXVILLE N.Y. - While Con Edison continues to clear any immediate dangers and restore power to Bronxville residents and institutions, they have not yet provided a definitive timetable for full restoration.

Bronxville continues to operate under a state of emergency, said Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale

"It is likely that these repairs will not be scheduled or completed before the weekend, leaving many of us without power well into next week," he said in a statement. "We have a Con Ed liaison at the Village Hall and continue to work closely with the company in our attempts to have power restored as soon as possible."

Despite Bronxville's lack of power, garbage will be collected as scheduled, and residents are asked to place any tree limbs curbside away from leaves. Also, the police department has suspended the enforcement of parking meters for Thursday and Friday.

Village officials are asking residents to refrain from calling the police department and Village Hall about power restoration because they have limited phone service and no Internet access .
