On Friday, Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale announced that parking enforcement rules will be suspended beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday, extending through noon on Sunday. Any vehicles parked on a public road will be summonsed and possibly towed at the owners expense.
To accommodate those affected, the village will permit parking in the Garden Avenue Parking Lot in the row closest to Garden Avenue and int he Merchant Section of the Maltby Parking Lots. LK1 permit holders must move their cars from roadways by 10 p.m. on Friday, and may use the same lots.
Cars parked in any of the lots must be removed by 9 a.m. on Sunday to allow Bronxville DPW crews to clear snow in advance of the morning commute the following day.
Satriale warned that power outages should be directed toward Con Edison crews, not Scarsdale officials.
“In the event of a power outage, it must be reported to Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED. Residents should not contact Village Hall or the police department to report power outages.”
According to the National Weather Service, Bronxville can expect blizzard-like conditions on Saturday, with between eight and 12 inches of snow accumulating during the day. Overnight, temperatures will drop below 20 degrees, and an additional three inches may fall. Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 50 mph.
A winter storm warning, coastal flood watch and coastal flood advisory have all been issued and extended through Saturday afternoon.
