BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- “Rodin in Bronxville,” a communitywide celebration of an exhibition of Auguste Rodin portrait sculptures, opened at OSilas Gallery at Concordia College this week.
The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce announced the opening of the exhibit, which will run through Nov. 27. The Chamber has enlisted 43 Bronxville businesses – including restaurants, shops, services, and organizations – to participate in the festivities.
This exhibition will offer visitors the opportunity to view Rodin bronze portrait sculptures on loan from the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation. Also featured will be 10 models displaying Rodin’s casting of the renowned sculpture Sorrow on loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Participating Bronxville businesses will offer a variety of events and specials in conjunction with the exhibit. Visitors can experience first-rate restaurants with French-theme meals, stores with French merchandise, performances of French music and classes such as The Art of French Entertaining.
Some Bronxville businesses in Bronxville are offering special offers for a raffle associated with the exhibit. Bronxville-Ley Real Estate will collect donations to The Community Fund in lieu of a minimum amount spent on their services to qualify for raffle-entry validation. The Bronxville-Ley collection box will be in its office. 17 1/2 Park Pl.
