Mann, Longtime Lawrence Hospital Doctor, Dies

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Dr. Seymour Mann, who served Lawrence Hospital patients in Bronxville for more than 50 years, died March 3 at the age of 94.

Born March 10, 1917 in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mann graduated from Syracuse University with a medical doctorate in 1939. He married the former Gertrude Alpert on Aug. 28, 1941. Miller then served in the Army Air Corps as a medical doctor with the 28th Depot Repair Squadron in the South West Pacific Theater during World War II form 1943 to 1946.

A resident of Eastchester, Mann returned from the war and practiced internal medicine in Tuckahoe and joined the staff of Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.

He is survived by his wife Gertrude, his sons Douglas (Eileen) Mann and Edward (Holly) Mann, his daughter Janice (Geoff) Clay, five grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by his sister Rose Naidorf and his brothers Robert and Sydney.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. The funeral service will follow immediately at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family will sit Shiva at their home after the service.
