Bronxville Veteran, Tom Lalumia Dies at 81

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Edward J. "Tom" Lalumia, of Bronxville, died on Oct. 27. He was 81. 

Lalumia was born in Meriden, Conn. on May 14, 1930 to Carl Joseph and Helen S. Lalumia. He attended the Gunnery School as well as Brown University and Columbia University.

In 1959, as the computer industry was emerging, he founded E. Thomas Lalumia Associates, an executive search consultation practice in Manhattan.

He served in both the US Navy and Army during the Korean War. Lalumia was a bridge champion, sports fan and clarinetist. He enjoyed cooking as well as music and animals, especially his cat Boo.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Pamela Wace Lalumia, his daughters Christine and Elizabeth, his son Timothy, his brother Carl and two grandchildren.

Calling hours are at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30PM at the funeral home with interment at Bronxville Cemetery.
