This week, first-graders at the Bronxville Elementary School welcomed Bronxville Police Sgt. William Carroll and Officer Cheryl Jarosz into their classrooms, where they officered common sense tips and advice to the students regarding the potential perils of interacting with strangers.
During their visit, Carroll and Jarosz discussed how students can stay safe at home and spoke of what they should do if they are approached by a stranger in certain situations. At the end of each interactive and informative lessons, the students were then tasked with performing a skit about what they had just learned.
According to officials, “students said they learned that they shouldn’t accept anything from a stranger, and if a stranger approaches them, they should run away and tell an adult.”
