The workshop, hosted by Nicole Lesser, founder of Domestic Violence MATTERS, will be held Thursday,  from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at W@tercooler,  21 N Broadway in Tarrytown, N.Y. Tickets are $10 and can be bought in advance here.

The informal presentation aims to provide simple strategies that parents, school personnel and other role models can use to help teens navigate both the excitement and risks of dating.

Lesser will explore steps that schools and other organizations can take to support safe dating for teens in their community.

Lesser has advised and guided professionals and parents in her practice on how to discuss dating with your  teen, recognizing the red flags, and knowing when (and how) to intervene.

She will be presenting a second workshop during the summer on simple steps businesses and others in the community can take to become "up standers" in the fight against intimate partner violence.

W@tercooler offers workspace, meeting and event options for businesses.
