Company Founder To Speak At Free Concordia Business Breakfast

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Founder of Undercare, a company that manufactures undergarments for individuals with mobility impairment issues, will speak at the April 12 Concordia College Business Breakfast in Bronxville.

Susanne Shoemaker, CEO and Founder of Undercare, will discuss “The Story of a Startup: From Concept to Commercialization” at Concordia’s Business Breakfast.

Shoemaker founded Undercare after identifying a need for the specialty undergarments.

She designs and manufactures the easy-on, easy-off patented specialty undergarments exclusively in the United States.

Prior to launching Undercare, Shoemaker held teaching positions at various institutions and also served as an editorial proofreader for The New Yorker Magazine. 

Shoemaker has received several awards including the LANZA Award for “Strength of Business Plan” from the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) and was named a top 10 finalist in the Small Business Administration’s InnovativeHER competition. 

She also participated in the IBM Mentorship program, the MasterCard Pro Bono Challenge, and recently attended a Women and Innovation roundtable at the White House. 

Shoemaker earned a bachelor's in English from Georgetown University and master's in fine arts in drawing from the New York Academy of Art.

The breakfast will begin at 7 p.m. in Concordia’s Krenz Academic Center, followed by the presentation at 7:30 a.m.
