Residents and shoppers alike lined the streets of Bronxville on Saturday to browse the goods of some of the village’s most popular businesses, who brought their wares right out on the street in front of their stores at discounted prices.
While browsing through everything from jewelry and handbags to soccer kits and running clothes, shoppers enjoyed music being piped in from a DJ at Lange’s Deli and sampling seasonal street food from several local vendors.
Scarsdale resident Diane Harper noted that she felt there were even more discounts this year while perusing pieces at Bronxville Jewelers.
“It’s the same set up, but there seems to be more discounts and bigger discounts,” she said. “I love these outdoor sales. You get to enjoy the sunshine while shopping. It’s the best of both worlds.”
This year, nearly 50 village businesses and organizations participated in the fall sidewalk sale, offering goods discounted as much as 50 percent off. There were various wine tastings and multiple village restaurants took their grills outside to feed hundreds of shoppers.
There was also a puppy and kitten adoption outside of Provisions for Pets, which was a popular spot for shoppers both young and old, including Eastchester resident Kelsey Martin.
“When else can you walk down the street, eating barbecue, shopping and then come to a bunch of kittens at the finish line,” she said. “I only wish we lived in a bigger (village), then there would be even more shopping to do.”
